In last week’s post, you heard about what Honors is – a university-orienting, friendship-building program of awesomeness. This week, though, I want to talk about some of the ways Honors can help you achieve the most here on campus.
As a student in the Honors Program, you’re going to have access to opportunities that few other students will get to experience. Honors at Iowa State is nationally recognized as one of the top programs in the country and often sends students to attend and sometimes present at national conferences. On campus, departments look for Honors students to fill their positions. The leaders of many campus clubs and organizations, from the VEISHEA co-chairs to the President of the Student Body, have their roots in Honors.
Whether it’s leading an FHP section for the next year’s new students, attending an international conference or applying for (and winning) the nation’s most competitive scholarships, the Honors program will provide you with the opportunity. It’s up to you to make it happen!
