Ever wonder what Honors students do during the summer? Instead of doing “traditional” blog posts this summer, Honors Ambassadors and students will be taking you into their summer routines via photos. Derek Coulter is doing more than you are…surveying, woodworking, gladiator runs, AND getting accepted into ISU’s Industrial Design program:
Waking up before the sun and watching it rise while I eat my cereal. 5:20 AM
The half hour drive to work is hard to stay awake for, but the Iowa countryside is beautiful.
This summer I am working for a civil engineering and land surveying company, Clapsaddle-Garber Associates. I work with the sarcastic and hardworking survey crew.
Surveying a 14 mile pipeline 6 days a week 10 hours a day.
After work I spend my time working on redoing my rooms. Goodbye blue shaggy carpet. Hello old hardwood floors!
I have also been working on making some wooden bracelets and designing multiple other wood projects.
Frozen pizza with some beautifully delicious extra toppings for supper.
Ran the Gladiator Assault Challenge in Boone with some fellow ISU boys. 5.6 miles, 30 obstacles, and tons of mud and fun!
Hanging with a special someone as much as I can.
To top things off I received the great news of making it into the Industrial Design program!
